Hog
Devil's Bridge - early morning hike starting at Mescal/Chuckwagon trailhead (this alternate route was highly recommended). 4.2 mile round trip and easily our favorite hike.
The regular trailhead for Devil's Bridge has a rather lengthy gravel road to hike before getting to the good parts of the trail. Taking the Mesdal/Chuckwagon trailhead route was a very good hike that was more scenic than the gravel road.
Also, the earlier the better for Devils Bridge. We got to the trailhead at around 6:30 am and when we got to the bridge there were 30 people in front of us that wanted to take a picture on the bridge. We decided against taking the picture and headed back down. In our hike out, we crossed tons of people heading in....and that was about 7:45.

Rent a 4x4 vehicle and you can drive straight up to the actual trailhead. That’s what I do with my Jeep cause the gravel road is so boring to hike.
