I mean Trump was known as a businessman in the 1980s. But since then, he's been more known as a reality star who was a businessman than a businessman who's a reality star.

I'm probably much younger than the average TigerDroppings user but I only knew Trump because of the TV show. It raised his profile considerably - there's a quote by Trump saying exactly this about the publicity and name recognition the show gave him.

That may be so but it doesn't change the fact that he IS a reality TV star. You can't say you don't respect influencers yet vote for a reality TV star who's a businessman. My point is, it still doesn't change the fact that he is a reality TV star.
