Any team that has 2 losses in the last 11 games of which one is to freaking Stanford cannot be anointed great.

Last season. What about a team with one loss to an underdog in their last 5 games? Can a team with one loss in the last three be #1?

It is hilarious because USC fans could not care less about LSU. I was watching gameday this weekend and you did not hear a single boo when Fowler mentioned LSU or any other SEC team, however, if gameday would have been in Baton Rouge and Fowler would have mentioned USC you would have heard a roar of boo's. Please get over the obsession with USC, it is getting borderline creepy, the way all Alabama fans are paranoid that everyone is out to get them.

I have to agree with that one.

While all this is fine and dandy, (and I do agree that USC deserves #1 right now), the voters ignored this and every other logic in 2003..............Here was my effort to discredit the voters then........ 1.) Record LSU 13-1 USC 12-1 Winner - LSU
2.) Common opponents Auburn and Arizona LSU beat Auburn and Arizona by larger margins of victory and in a much more impressive manner, allowing the backups to play, up 31-0 in the 3rd quarter vs Auburn, whereas USC had to keep its first team in the entire game. Arizona players said that LSU was a better team than USC. Arizona's Clay Hart said after this year's game with USC that the Trojans " were really good. But personally, I think LSU was the best team we’ve faced since I’ve been a Wildcat .” Winner - LSU
3.) SOS Coaches Poll - AP poll is similiar
Top 3: LSU - 1 USC - 0 Top 6: LSU - 3 USC - 0 Top 10: LSU - 3 USC - 2
Top 15: LSU - 4 USC - 2 Top 25: LSU - 5 USC - 2 Top 30: LSU - 7 USC - 3 Winner - LSU
4.) Loss LSU lost to Ranked team USC lost to Unranked Florida, whose five losses came from five top 16 teams: Ole Miss, Tennessee, FSU, Miami, and Iowa. Florida beat two top 5 teams. USC lost to unranked 6 loss Cal (Cal did recently beat Virginia Tech, but VA Tech finished the season 1-5 with its only win coming over 1-11 Temple in overtime). Cal beat one top 25 team Winner - LSU
5.) Margin of victory LSU had larger MOV. Not only larger MOV, but vs SOS. Winner - LSU
6.) Polls LSU wins 6/7 computers and 1/2 human polls USC wins 1/7 computers and 1/2 human polls Winner - LSU
7.) Bowl opponents LSU beat #3 USC beat #7 LSU's opponents in bowls 5-1 USC's opponents in bowls 5-1 LSU's bowl opponents avg rank (21) vs their bowl opponent's avg rank (22) USC's bowl opponents avg rank (42) vs their bowl opponent's avg rank (41) Date range of LSU's bowl opponent's games: Dec 31 - Jan 2 Date range of USC's bowl opponent's games: Dec 24 - Dec 31. Winner - LSU
8.) Most impressive win USC's most impressive win was 14 pt. win against #7 Michigan (home game). LSU beat a higher ranked #6 Georgia by more points 21 on the road at Georgia. LSU also beat #3 Oklahoma and #6 Georgia again. That's 3 games vs tougher opponents before USC plays it's toughest. Winner - LSU
9.) Respective conf LSU - SEC: Top 25 - 5 USC - Pac10: Top 25 - 2 Winner - LSU
10.) AP voters, coaches, and media I challenge the AP voters and the 3 coaches that voted USC over LSU to explain their reasoning. I covered just about everything that could be covered, overall record, common opponents, strength of schedule, the loss of each team, the margin of victory, the overall rankings and polls, the bowl opponents and how they faired, the most impressive wins, and I even compared conferences just to be sure I covered everything related to the two teams. It all adds up that most voters and coaches are deliberate liars and cheaters or maybe even clueless who totally ignore facts and it's sad to say that without the BCS, America would of been robbed of the true champion. I find it strange that the media does not present THESE FACTS shown above. I also find it amusing that in their desperate attempt to discredit the BCS, they do so WITHOUT facts, just blurting out opinions without facts. Is the BCS more credible that the voters? You be the judge.

Wow, somone needs to update their hairstyle from 2003.

This bit about them playing UCLA on 12/6 needs to be addressed by the conferences that have Conference Championship Games on that day. The extension to that date was orginally given by the NCAA for conferences that played championship games. The PAC-10 doesn't and they should finish their season the week before.

I hope the SEC, Big 12 and ACC will bring this up and stop this.

Are you serious? Your obsession with USC is just sad.

I dont like USC, but I mean come on, they are very good. They just play with a complete confidence not matched by anyother team. I hope they get beat, but they are a special team and I dont see that happening. Mark Sanchez is the wild cocky kind of gunslinger that gets the whole team on his back. Gotta love the pure energy they play with. Fun to watch.

but let's wait until they get a real test (@ home vs Oregon) before we put them in the Championship game.

I'm going to that game.

And I think USC is by far the best team in the nation, and they are also overrated.

I think it's both if that is possible, lol.

LSU overrated , wow lets play APP state, or North Texas St. or maybe the only trojans we ever beat will be Troy . its about time for LSU fans to admit they play a weak schedule, im so tired of the SEC yes i agree they are good but for the 10000 time , let me say the pac tens is winning against them so quit talkin shite, i know some rantard will say LSU play a hard schedule , go ahead and whine to someone else when you quit playing teams like tulane and north texas state then you can say that its tough to be in the SEC,

who gives a shite about florida and georgia , they could stay home and still get votes the only reason they put sec teams in the top ten is because they ran out of other teams to put in

you have no idea what you're talking about. He was a fumble machine at SC and couldn't sniff the field, tranfered, like an idiot, to a school that doesn't use it RBs, fumbled a lot during practice, and can't sniff the field
