As we all know the other poster was just trying to make a point - a good one too - that those of us who don’t want have a lot of great reasons for not wanting it when the majority who do want it can’t name one good reason for getting it.

This is inaccurate. If you don’t get the vaccine because whatever reason, that’s fine I guess. But there are many good reasons to get that vaccine, and very few good reasons not to. It mostly comes down to the idea that the vaccine basically would be unlikely to give you any issues that Covid would not also do. When Covid infects your cells, it injects mRNA which codes for a multitude of proteins which reassemble into new virus. This happens in cells all over your body.
The vaccine uses mRNA to create 1 protein.
If a person is worried that they will have long-term autoimmune problems, it would be the inflammatory response to a proteins that would cause that. That is how those things work. Would you rather, if you were worried about an autoimmune sequela, have your body responding to a multitude of proteins or to just one? That’s one example, but pretty much every CONCRETE objection to the vaccine can be analyzed this way. Now, if the objection is vague ( like most are - ex. ‘ I’m not putting a new drug in my body’’) then it’s harder. It’s kind of impossible to argue against a vague objection because there’s nothing specific to discuss.
