i can clearly articulate why I got the vaccine. I am a stage iv cancer patient actively on chemotherapy. I got the vaccine because, despite all of the data about safety concerns, the risk of the virus to my immuno-compromised arse was far greater than the small number of potentially serious side effects from the vaccine. I chose to get the vaccine not because I thought it would keep me from getting the virus, but because it offered a better chance of a positive outcome if and when I did catch covid.
That is what I call personal responsibility, I have a health issue so I made a decision, that was not nearly as informed as I would have liked, to take the vaccine due to my personal circumstances.
I don't give a rats arse about what anyone else does with the vaccine that is their decision not mine!

Very well. You are the first person I've heard in that specific scenario who can articulate why you got the vaccine. Under those circumstances, I can understand your thinking.
You represent a small subsector of the population in which, perhaps, it does make sense to try the vaccine. The individuals that I know who have gotten the vaccine are not facing the life decisions on a level that you are.

What data?
What safety concerns?

You are one of the few people i have run across with a well thought out reason. And btw, i wish you well! I have always said that there are some people the vaccine makes sense for, and I understand if the high risk and elderly want it.
And no one has to have to have a reason to get it. That’s their business. As we all know the other poster was just trying to make a point - a good one too - that those of us who don’t want have a lot of great reasons for not wanting it when the majority who do want it can’t name one good reason for getting it.
Anyway, so i can understand if someone wants it just for the hell of it. What I don’t understand is why so many who are getting it are being such a holes to those who don’t want it. Why are they so damn pushy?!?! And what’s with the guilt tripping? I don’t feel guilty one bit. I’m just enraged by their craziness.
& I’m not saying you are doing this at all. ( I went off topic a little)
