Chimes East just saw their business crumble

I hope so, if true I’ll start to patronize it more, the last time I was there the made me try the gumbo after I ordered it because “too many patrons eat most of it and send it back for a refund”.

Dang, this is still happening there? Went through the same song and dance several years ago. By default, they make anyone who hasn't had the gumbo or soup try a sample before they bring the full bowl because so many customers order it, eat half, and send it back. I found it hilarious.

I've referred to Chimes East patrons (regardless of race, not even about that) as "samplers" ever since.

Bro, I ordered the gumbo at Chimes last winter, waitress asked if I’ve had it before, I said I think so. Should have taken the hint, it’s the worst gumbo ever made, it was like a terrible vegetable soup. I purged it from my memory until I saw your posts.

My wife had to stop ordering the seafood gumbo because of the lack of identifiable seafood in said gumbo. I'll still order the duck and sausage gumbo though.
