’d much rather be in an 8 team division with bama and ark moving out and ut and ou moving in while doing away with the UF permanent opponent.

That would have LSU having a very doable path to the playoff every year.

You could say LSU could have moved to the Big 12 and found the same path.

"SEC football" isn't just wearing a sticker on the jersey, it's the teams you play. Alabama, Fla and Auburn are at the heart of that.

exactly. We could also move to the ACC and make the playoffs more often (yes, Clemson is the roadblock right now, but we'd steamroll through the rest of the ACC).

The playoffs of course, is the goal, but I don't want to sacrifice the tough, emotional games on our schedule just to get there.

I want to play Bama. I want to play Florida. I want to play Auburn. I want to play A&M.

These games are emotional and yes, they're difficult. But that's what we want, right? Otherwise, we roll through a weak schedule with little drama. That would make for a boring 12 weeks, and I want none of that.

Let's play the big boys and if we get through it, we'll know we earned our spot in Atlanta or the playoffs.

BINGO! Who doesn't look at the schedule to see when these games are played and who we play the week before and after! The early test with Auburn, mid-sched vs Florida, then late season festa with Gumpland... Sick to death these will be not be regular occurrences anymore. Sheesh. Feels like I've had to put down a longtime best friend pet. I will absolutely cherish the last 2 years of the traditional SEC Schedule.
