I'd rather be a bouncer at a westside beer joint.

That jackhole(s) should be forced into either financial restitution or better yet have to work off the total cost of repair by hand mowing the course in the summer.

Id rather just beat the living shite out of him like his parents should have years ago.

And throw his four wheeler in Bayou Plaquemine while he’s laying there watching through swollen eyes.

Here’s the thing- I don’t care if you wear a wife beater and biker shorts as long as you don’t drag your feet on the greens and repair your ball marks and play at a reasonable pace.

This all day long.

And don’t think this stuff happens only from the people you described in your OP. I see lots of people out here paying upwards of $100-$150/ rd wearing proper attire and still not repairing marks. It’s beyond annoying.

Exactly right. Entitled people at all levels of courses and many times members who think they own the place.

I pointed out wearing the Jorts/Jeans not to shame people about what they are wearing, but it shows a general lack of golfing awareness. Hence, not fixing ball marks, driving the cart up, other unwritten rules.

Don’t worry, you can shame them. That’s how one develops awareness.

Always took pride in hitting a good shot that left a ball mark. I wanted to repair it myself plus one other. If everyone did that, there would be none.

And with regards to driving around the greens, get some stakes and ropes. Doesn’t look the best but gets the job done.

Played out there last week. Was amazed how great of shape it was, the greens were great. The "lady" working the food and beverage area is terrible though.

I don’t know if Tom gets credit for running BC, but whoever is responsible deserves an “attaboy” considering it’s condition, it’s a muni, and it’s usage.

A lot of credit goes to the economics for golf being better. COVID spurred interest into golf.

The Island was closed for a long time. Dumas / Clark closed. That created more demand for the remaining courses.

Golf in BR Area may be turning a corner.

I know people hate courses having golfers but it is good for business.

Beaver Creek has a good golf course superintendent. He's been there about four years and things have gotten progressively better each year. Increased demand (from COVID spurt or other courses closing) does not improve conditions, at least at BREC. Their budget is set at the beginning of the year and not going to change due to improvement in cash flow. More traffic there only makes the course worse.

And don't forget one really big thing... full sunlight. Beaver, for the most part gets full sun everywhere (except for a few greens on the back nine). It's amazing what a good superintendent can do when he doesn't have to battle shade and tree roots all day.

How sustainable is it? People are fickle and trends tend to be just that, trendy.
