Saying they are both average nfl qbs is not dumb and hyperbolic.

Saying they are both mediocre talents is.

When one says Aaron Donald is the best DT in the league. They don’t just mean best among starters. He’s best overall.

And it’s not like there’s a set 32 starting QBs year in and out. Some teams have backups more talented then some teams’ starters. So you can’t compare them to just 30 other QBs.

Hell they’re not even consistently average. Some years they’re average, other years they are top 10 or even higher.

The answer, no matter how much people don't like it, is Cousins.

PFF had a tweet that was absolutely blasting the Chiefs-- essentially, if you remember the pressure Mahomes faced in the Super Bowl--- the thing that it most closely resembled statistically in pro football last year? The pass protection of the Minnesota Vikings for the entire 2020 season. And Cousins was still a Top 10ish QB, statistically.

Look up the definition of mediocrity. We already had this discussion earlier.
