This is honestly one of the dumbest things I have ever read on here, and that's impressive.

I guess to an outsider they really don’t know the problems the city has. However, everyone knows that Louisiana isn’t exactly the best place to raise a family so that may play a role

Probably already mentioned, but with enough money you can avoid the bad parts of BR altogether. Hell, they had the Miss Universe pageant or whatever there for years. I imagine those girls went the entire trip without encountering the "bad" parts of BR.

The truth is Baton Rouge hurts everything. LSU succeeds in spite of Baton Rouge.

And LSU has a lot of fault in that. With its economic and political influence, there is no reason for LSU to border a fricking ghetto warzone.

Inexcusable.

I agree that Baton Rouge has a huge crime problem. However, with LSU head coach money, you can live in BR and be oblivious to the crime. There are many parts of BR that are great.

I always tell people who aren't familiar how strange it is. Highland Road runs straight through campus and on one end you've got the poorest people in BR, and on the other end you've got some of the richest people in BR.

That was a looooong time ago and crime is spreading from north BR to all over the city…. Plus some of the worse places are near campus…… gated community or not who wants to live in a city and work in a city that it’s only safe to go to and from work…. I can assure Knoxville is not even close to BR as far as crime is concerned….

You don't think quality of life, crime rates in a city, etc., is a factor in recruiting high-net worth individuals?

Virtually every major corporation and executive search firm disagrees with you.

It may not be THE factor, but it's a factor.

Was just thinking same thing, especially re Vitello - Knoxville and the whole state of Tennessee vs Baton Rouge and Louisiana. No comparison as to quality of life! Baton Rouge and Louisiana are in the toilet!

You must be 13 or very naive. Baton Rouge is not the city it was 15 years ago. Not even the city it was 5 years ago. Crime rates, poverty levels, government, etc plays a role no matter how much money you make.

This is a valid point, however I doubt they would be spending much time on Plank road.

Yes that gated community and private schools could be a problem.

I have a fantastic job in Northern Virginia but keep the family in Baton Rouge because it’s a wonderful place to raise a family. Company let’s me work remote. None of us want to leave

Lucky you. I am stuck living in the Richmond area. It isn't as bad as northern Virginia, but it isn't far behind, especially after 2020 and all the burn the city by 2 certain groups.

Really?? It is a marvel how Detroit manages three pro sports teams and their athletes without any issues. Or, or, how about all the Saints players having to fend off all the car jackings and home invasions!

Probably, but there'll be about 2 million reasons for a young up & coming coach to move to Baton Rouge! As they say, money talks and BS walks...

Why use Detroit… it’s a ghost town… try Chicago… they have 5 pro sports teams and the city has more issues than any city in the country….. face it. BR is not a very nice place overall… it has a few spots that are ok but the majority of it is a drug and crime filled dump…..

Hannigriff said on Monday night on Jimmy Ott’s show that LSU baseball might be going through what Texas football went through. They think they can get any coach they want because of their history but it might be harder then they thought it would be.

Yeag, but we know Godwin would take it and that's a homerun in my book
