So where are we at? Is our next coach now available?

After Bianco was out, the word was our next baseball coach was still coaching in Omaha.
Jay Johnson lost out, can we officially scratch him from the list?
At what point today can you assume its not Vitello, if we don't hear anything?
Corbin and O'Connor are the only two coaches still coaching.
I was confident that it was Vitello, but that is starting to cool off for me. What y'all thinking?

I assume we are waiting for an answer from Corbin then moving down the list. Hopefully Vandy loses tonight and we can start to get some clarity.
If he's not top of the list, we are not gonna simply offer CTV because his team lost out first.

I hope it’s Vitello but if it isn’t, and your theory holds up, Gautreau is still coaching.

Whether your next coach is still coaching or not, I don’t expect a press conference announcement until some time next week.

I agree. It would be a positive for the State program that an assistant would be taking the LSU job, so State would be happy to have that announced right away.
I don’t think it’s Gautreau. It doesn’t fit Scott’s MO. That’s why I don’t foresee a presser until next week.

Why divert news away from the CWS like the day AL hired Saban?
Just wait until the entire season is over and say we hired our #1 guy even if it is an assistant from a team that had their season ended a week ago.

Just another several days to wait. What AL did was a total d-ck move to shift focus off of LSU on the day of the national championship.
