Coca Cola
This.
Pre corn syrup.
Get you a Mexican Coca-Cola. They still use the original recipe with cane sugar instead of corn syrup.

I have. Had forgotten how good it used to taste.

Hipster fantasy.
Several years ago there was a scientific paper published in the journal Obesity where they studied the sweeteners used in multiple soft drinks domestically and internationally including US coke and Mexican Coke and they found no sucrose in the Mexican Coke just glucose and fructose. This means they were not using sucrose at all or the sucrose was naturally breaking down from a disaccharide to two monosaccharides (as glucose and sucrose which are chemically identical to HFCS). Most of the Coke sold in Mexico now is labeled as using HFCS.

And then conduct a blind taste test with family. I did it and was surprised how none of us could tell the difference between either product. Instead of a 1 v 1 pour, we did a 1 v 1 vs random 1. So randomness suggested we had only a 1 in 3 chance of getting it right. Results were brutal . No one guessed correctly above a rate of randomness.
Turns out corn syrup is as awesome as sugar, and a preference for sugar is rooted in nostalgia rather than taste.
