My family owns property outside of Point Reyes Station. We spend significant time in San Francisco and Palo Alto.

To put it simply, you’re lying if you deny the filth in and around cities in California.

You are full of shite if you are saying Palo Alto is trashy.

And most of San Francisco isn't trashy like the Tenderloin and Mission district. Crowded? Yes but most of it is well kept.

Now Oakland? Pretty trashy.

No shite Sherlock, but that’s true for all cities (except Bruges, Brussels - cleanest city I’ve ever seen).

Point Reyes is nice. In high school we’d hangout at Bodega Bay just north of there.

There are “well kept” areas in every city that will be mentioned in this thread. You are slowly admitting that yes, actually there are trashy areas in California, so what are you arguing exactly?

You can not drive a major interstate in California without passing tons of trash along the way also.

To be fair, it’s hard to walk in NYC sidewalks on garbage puck up day. However, the sidewalks are pretty clear on non-pick up days. At least pre-pandemic.

It’s a beautiful area. The more sinister elements of the Bay Area have not made their way there yet, thankfully. We’re heading back in August.

You can not drive a major interstate in any high population area in the world without passing tons of trash. We are comparing US states, and although California has many faults ( socialism ), trashiness is not one of them. ( except for areas in the major cities )

That being said, homelessness is a major problem in the major cities, and is a direct result of socialist policies.

People in Baton Rouge and New Orleans are doing everything they can to win this title. Ride around in these two cities for and hour and you’re likely to see someone open their car door and leave a whole bag of trash in the middle of the road. Its amazing how much people litter in these two cities.

As a whole, Louisiana is the dirtiest. Parts of 190 through Louisiana are the dirtiest I've seen. People literally dump couches, recliners, mattresses, and boxsprings on the side of the road.

Louisiana is absolutely filthy.

Visit Appalachia in the winter when the leaves have fallen, and you will see the swarms of hillbilly hoarders and the ruins of there predecessor that litter the mountain sides.

Tell us you've never left the state without saying it.
