Heads up ancestry.com's military website fold3.com is free to browse this memorial day weekend (starting today).

Pretty cool browsing through there and coming across my dads WW2 enlistment card.

Wanted to pass along in case anyone else is interested and didn't know about this.

Did you not read the thread wherein we learned:

Napoleon's great-grandpa was a serial daughter raper
QJenk's has cousins who lost their virginity to each other, on accident
ABucks11's coworker's 2 brothers each have a different dad than the heretofore aforementioned coworker.
and, if thats not bad enough, EuphoricSSP does not know the rules.

NO THANK YOU!!!!

I'll have to hit it up and see if I can dig up my wife's (no pics) great-grandfather's Waffen SS records.

I just searched my uncle who was a Green Beret killed by sniper in Vietnam and there's really no information. Just date of birth, date of death, and last 4 of his social.

ETA - nevermind I learned how to search better. Looks promising so far. Thanks for the heads up.

sincere thanks to the OP. I followed some breadcrumbs and discovered a man in CA who knew my uncle through basic training on. They were on a 30-day leave together - I'm sure he has some stories!!!

I reached out to him via email and pray he's still alive and well.

Here's a picture of my uncle Roger in partial jump suit that I'm pretty sure my mom has never seen - it will make an amazing present to have blown up and matted / framed for her 80th birthday in 2 months.
