Using dams to protect neighborhoods or even a small grouping of homes is one thing. Using it to block 2/3rds of an massive floodway is way over the line.
This guy is also demanding that the new bridge be in Iberville and refuses to cooperate or support with any route that doesn’t involve a bridge between the two sections of Iberville Parish on either side of the river. He wants a bridge for locals similar to what New Roads got, not a southern bypass around Baton Rouge.
More Regional cooperation is needed for mega projects like this, and Ourso is often a huge impediment to that.

Like I said, I think it's a shitty thing to do but I see why he's doing it and I can't necessarily blame him for doing it. EBR is just as culpable in this as he is. They let developers completely fill in everything along Burbank and pipe all their runoff into bayou fountain with nowhere to go.

That bridge needs to go into his parish 100%.
