It's possible, apparently when Brooks was a kid Phil turned him down for an autograph or something at Augusta. Considering how Brooks seems to always have a reason to have a chip on his shoulder I bet losing to Phil was tough for him.

Had Mickelson played poorly and lost, how strange that Koepka would have had the same number of majors? Plus 80 wins for one and under 10 for the other. Life isn’t fair but the way this ended ‘seemed’ right.
