The alphas, such as Zeus and his mate, were not mindless like “regular” zombies. It was clear that they were capable of independent thought and could command the others, as well as feel some form of emotion (at least Zeus and the Queen could.

I get that, but they are still zombies. There’s no need to give the audience any more motivation behind their pursuit of the main character than they are fricking zombies adding in a plot about a zombie baby answers a question we already knew the answer to while opening up 10000 other questions that won’t get answered in the story

Like if you want to go down the zombie baby route, okay cool let’s see what we can do with it, but to bring it up for 2 seconds untethered to anything else involved in the plot just to “show why the zombies are pursing the humans so relentlessly” is just bad plot construction and writing

It’s a Zack Snyder movie. I knew that he would introduce numerous plot elements that went nowhere, which he did. That said, the idea that the alphas were not mindless and could control the others was a cool concept that I wish he’d expanded upon.

Just saw this movie. It sucks that none of the redeemable characters made it out alive. All they succeeded in doing is releasing a zombie into Mexico City. Yay.
