I thought it was solid but it could’ve been so much better.
To me it’s such a cool concept - heist movie with zombies in Vegas. That should have and would’ve been good enough. The nuke scenario and the guy backstabbing was just too much and unnecessary.
It didn’t even make sense - if all Tanaka really wanted was a zombie head, why not contract that out instead? Would be way easier than making a team go in and crack a safe, unnecessarily. The guy and Coyote got the head when they were 2v2 versus the same two alpha zombies that the whole team encountered right when they entered. They could’ve just done exactly that upon entry and turned around and called it a day.
And the nuke thing just was annoying. Everyone was incredibly nonchalant about a nuke hitting them in an hour. Having casual conversations and such. It took me out of the story a bit because it was too much that they would be so calm and not rushing, knowing a nuke was on the way.
Take both those things out, the nuke and the ulterior motive, and you have essentially the same movie but with less wasted sidetracked time and more time for zombie scenes that add to the story. Cleaner, simpler, better.
