Yeah, if Dinardo wasn't so stubborn keeping Tepper around, he wouldn't have been fired. We would have been comptetative with him, and he was a good recruiter. However, he never would have been the guy to take us to the next level either. He might have been able to be in the Tommy Tubberville tier of coaches.

Could recruit and bring back the Magic thing but was every OTHER week! Then L Tepper happened which almost as bad as last season

A big problem was that DiNardo actually wasn’t a good recruiter. He just looked like one. He did snag a few great players and got in-state guys to see LSU as a top choice again, but the 99 team was running like 10 scholarships under the limit for a reason.

He ran some guys off and had several who never made it to the field because of grade or discipline issues. He just reached way too often in recruiting trying to pad those class rankings and it ended up leaving us very short handed by the end of his tenure.
