Not a big fan of this Fauci guy but what he is saying here if just a reflection of reality. Despite personal feelings on the matter regarding the handling of key aspects of the COVID episode some people are likely to view flu seasonal outbreaks in a new light. It is strange to see that there is no real impact from the flu under the current conditions. It is an easy leap of the imagination to reason that masks and distancing are the likely difference makers. Don’t know if I personally will wear a mask during flu season, especially if I am vaccinated, but I will not judge others too harshly if they feel it’s something they need to do.

What may or may not be mandated by businesses and governments remains to be seen, but our world has changed like it or not. I just hope for better times.

Or that "Covid" = seasonal flu, and they are inflating numbers for political gain. But let's go with, some shitty cloth you keep grabbing with your hands and reusing is protecting us from seasonal flu...

I have pondered this as well. There's at least one study involving school children in a school setting where it shows mask wearing made virtually no difference. This study compared school's with stringent mask wearing policies vs schools with very loose policy.
I would add that Covid 19 has caused a greater emphasis on proper cleaning, sanitizing and disinfection practices which has in return helped in decreasing the cases of flu and covid 19 cases more so than mask wearing.
