9 MM. Springfield Hellcat is a good option.
The difference in "knockdown power" between a 9mm and a 45 is irrelevant. Choose the caliber you can shoot best. I prefer 9 mm because I like having more rounds and all of my pistols (if I actually owned any) use the same rounds.
