Not as atrocious as Florida and Ole Miss’ defenses. Florida ranked 74th in points allowed and 83rd in yards allowed. Ole Miss ranked 118th in points allowed and 126th in yards allowed. Compared to Miss St. 58th in points allowed, 57th in yards allowed. Missouri 113th in points allowed, 66th in yards allowed and Vandy 85th in points allowed, 121st in yards allowed. The defenses Brennan faced ranked an average of 85th in points allowed and 81st in yards allowed. The defenses Johnson faced ranked 96th in points allowed and 104th in yards allowed....

Brennan faced better defenses

you're really just splitting hairs there, neither really faced a murderer's row of defenses and just leave it at that. No point in trying to prop one up over the other in that category

really you can toss a lot out from last season because D was pretty much no existent across the board, even by CFB standards

Marginally yes, we're talking 20 yards per game average difference and 2 points a game difference. I'm only arguing that there is a QB competition, not one for the other.

My hope is Brennan steps up and takes the lead, has a great year and goes Pro. Then we will have a Johnson, Nuss, (possibly Finely) and Howard competition next spring thru fall for our new QB. I think all of those guys have better potential in the next few years than Brennan has this year but time will tell. Like the other poster said, its a stacked QB room.
