At the very least I need my damn information. I’m less worried about getting hacked (I do have IT maintenance, etc.) than I am with some nebulous tech company controlling my info.

The firm I work at has everything in the cloud, but everything is also copied in our in-office network so we can technically use one or the other. Something like that would resolve your concern about losing access to your information I would think.
