Staying in downtown WILL allow you to ride the light rail to Pasadena and take the free shuttle from the station to the Rose Bowl.

I'm planning on staying in Beverly Hills. Can you tell me more about this? Where can we pick up this train?

Medtiger, no problem.

If you're gonna stay in Beverly Hills and you want to take the rail, the best bet might be to either take the Expo Line that runs from downtown to Santa Monica and back, or take the Red Line that runs from North Hollywood to Downtown and back. BH is in between the two lines. Those lines will take you to the downtown main station where all the lines converge. Once you get there, you can stay on the red line till it gets to Union Station, or you can get off the Expo Line, transfer to the red line, and ride THAT to Union Station. Either way, you need to get to Union station to transfer to the Gold line, that takes you to Pasadena.

Take the Gold line to the Memorial Park station, and get off there. Walk about two blocks to the free shuttle area for the Rose Bowl. Board the shuttle and it literally lets you off RIGHT IN FRONT of the Rose Bowl.

You can also drive to Union Station, park at their underground lot for $8 for the WHOLE DAY, and catch the Gold line from the station upstairs. If you drive to the game, parking will be well over $50 AND the traffic is NIGHTMARISH.

Here's a link explaining how to get to the Rose Bowl game, but the procedure is the EXACT SAME for a UCLA home game. Hope this helps!

Getting to the Rose Bowl via Metro Rail

By the way, the fare for Metro Rail is $1.75 One way, and $3.50 round trip. Only a fool would drive to this game.
