You guys do know he was never actually dead right?

He was immortal, came here, dealt with this shite show for 33 years, had 3 days of pain, then went back to heaven.

That’s no sacrifice. I think it’s doubly funny that Christians say “god gave his only son” even though he knew he’d get him back 33 years later.

Do you even Pentecost? He didn't just return to heaven the same day he returned to life...or are you saying he is Immortal like the Highlander and the only way to kill him is to behead him?

Since the thread you made about this was whacked while I was trying to respond to you, I took the opportunity to copy my reply, and I will paste it here:

quote:

was raised catholic. When Christians talk about Jesus giving the ultimate sacrifice, where is the sacrifice? He came down here as an immortal, knowing full well he’d be here for a limited amount of time, then suffered for a mere 3 days, “died” and went back up to heaven where everything is perfect.

Where is the sacrifice? The treatment of someone like Otto Warmbier or any Jew or Pole escaped from or died in a concentration camp, dwarfs what Jesus went through.

If you want to just respond with “oh I hope you get saved,” don’t... that’s the equivalent of a leftist saying “you’re a white male, you don’t understand.”

Where's the sacrifice? Would you willingly allow people to drive nails through your hands and feet and hang you from them as you slowly die? This after being tortured prior to being crucified? All to die for the sins of sinners like me, and ungrateful people like you? Would you do that? Has anyone else done that?

You referenced people who did not WILLINGLY give themselves up into captivity. Jesus Did.

If you are a Catholic, and you believe as we Christians do that when we die, it's only a physical death, then why is it any different for you if you know you're about to be killed? Do you think you would say "eh, who cares, it's just my body, not my soul"? Or would you be terrified and try to escape? I'm willing to bet it's the latter.

If Jesus had said "You know what? I'm God, I don't have to go through this pain. I'm leaving now", we'd have no hope for salvation. If you don't understand that, you truly have never listened to or read the Gospel, friend.

quote:

Not to mention. He didn’t “rise” today. He rose 1988-ish years ago.

Then stop celebrating your birthday every year... What a ridiculous thing to say.

Which verse says that Jesus or anyone other than GOD himself was immortal?

If he was immortal, then GOD would not have had to resurrect him.

I know, atheist have it all figured out, but they sure do ask a lot of questions about GOD for people who know everything.
