Tomorrow, April 5th, will mark the 2044 year anniversary of the resurrection of JC.

This metaphorical Easter will be the closest to a true Easter until a true Easter happens in 2026.
Who’s celebrating tomorrow?
Who’s celebrating tomorrow?

I am by buying up all Easter candy at drastically reduced prices.

Wouldn't it be the 1,983rd? (2021-33)

I thought it was 23, but could be 33. Half the Bible was written about JC, but they weren’t very clear on dates.

When the church celebrates Easter on the day JC actually was resurrected instead of moving the date with Jewish Passover.

There was no Jesus it’s a fake story moron

That would be pretty difficult since the Julian and Augustine calendars weren't in effect until many years later.
Similar to Ramadan being based on the Lunar Calendar, which is 13 months.

Jesus is a factual person who walked the earth. You can attempt to make the argument he isn’t the son of God, but Jesus definitely walked the earth.

You guys do know he was never actually dead right?
He was immortal, came here, dealt with this shite show for 33 years, had 3 days of pain, then went back to heaven.
That’s no sacrifice. I think it’s doubly funny that Christians say “god gave his only son” even though he knew he’d get him back 33 years later.

Sounds good to me, dude. Two days of Easter this year! I'll call my Boss in the morning and let him know why I won't be at work.

Do you even Pentecost? He didn't just return to heaven the same day he returned to life...or are you saying he is Immortal like the Highlander and the only way to kill him is to behead him?

Don’t bother. These guys think he’s fully human but fasted for 40 days which is proven to be literally scientifically impossible.
They also think it was a sacrifice to be tortured for 3 days and go back to heaven. Like a rich kid who spent the summer in Haiti and comes back to Audubon Place and talks like he knows what it’s like to be poor to his rich friends.

Since the thread you made about this was whacked while I was trying to respond to you, I took the opportunity to copy my reply, and I will paste it here:
Where's the sacrifice? Would you willingly allow people to drive nails through your hands and feet and hang you from them as you slowly die? This after being tortured prior to being crucified? All to die for the sins of sinners like me, and ungrateful people like you? Would you do that? Has anyone else done that?
You referenced people who did not WILLINGLY give themselves up into captivity. Jesus Did.
If you are a Catholic, and you believe as we Christians do that when we die, it's only a physical death, then why is it any different for you if you know you're about to be killed? Do you think you would say "eh, who cares, it's just my body, not my soul"? Or would you be terrified and try to escape? I'm willing to bet it's the latter.
If Jesus had said "You know what? I'm God, I don't have to go through this pain. I'm leaving now", we'd have no hope for salvation. If you don't understand that, you truly have never listened to or read the Gospel, friend.
Then stop celebrating your birthday every year... What a ridiculous thing to say.

was raised catholic. When Christians talk about Jesus giving the ultimate sacrifice, where is the sacrifice? He came down here as an immortal, knowing full well he’d be here for a limited amount of time, then suffered for a mere 3 days, “died” and went back up to heaven where everything is perfect.
Where is the sacrifice? The treatment of someone like Otto Warmbier or any Jew or Pole escaped from or died in a concentration camp, dwarfs what Jesus went through.
If you want to just respond with “oh I hope you get saved,” don’t... that’s the equivalent of a leftist saying “you’re a white male, you don’t understand.”

Not to mention. He didn’t “rise” today. He rose 1988-ish years ago.

No kidding.
I had a pastor who used to say, "We are Easter people."
I politely disagreed. We are not Easter people. We are Pentecost people. The day Jesus rose from the dead (Easter), his disciples were hiding/terrified. There's a reason only Peter and John went to the tomb instead of all of them. There's a reason two of them on their way to Emmaus.
They thought for sure they were next.
On Pentecost, they were still behind barricaded doors. Unless something really dramatic happened, it was going to end there. Something dramatic must have happened, because all of a sudden they came out of hiding and began spreading the Word. All but one of them paid a horrible earthly price for it in the end.
Happy Easter to all.

Which verse says that Jesus or anyone other than GOD himself was immortal?
If he was immortal, then GOD would not have had to resurrect him.
I know, atheist have it all figured out, but they sure do ask a lot of questions about GOD for people who know everything.
