is his head just too small for his helmet or were we DESTROYING him?? welcome to division I-A football!!! but on the whole i think we did an excellent job of containing him and letting him know who was boss on the field.

Armanti was SCARED to get hit all day long--looked like a worm looking for a home

He was timid, look at the horrible throws he made all day. He did not show it on his face, but his performance did change as the game went on.

We did a good job containing him, but he is certainly a fine athlete. It just shows how balanced and aggressive our defense is this year. I didn't hear much from RJF...anyone else notice?

I'm not sure you can get the helmet secure on the head with that much hair...

This has been brought up before in another forums....First off there was some tremendous hitting going on no doubt.
Issue here is that for sometime now the helmet manufacturers have been advising against wearing the current stocking caps that some are wearing. The stocking cap is super slick so you may see a stocking cap that us designed to not be so slippery or maybe that's a good thing. In all likely hood it will take some one getting a major injury before they actually take it seriusly.
I'll try to find the links on the safety issue that the helmet makers are talking about when it comes to wearing those stocking caps.

I disagree that he was timid or scared of being hit really, anyone who was willing to take a hit that removes your helmet 3 or 4 times certainly isn't shying away from anything or QB sliding. as far as the reason I think it musta been loose bc of the hair

I don't know what it is, but I see more helmets fly off these days then I have ever seen before. I don't know if it is those caps that a lot of the players wear under their helmets now or if they wear their helmets too loose, but I have never seen so many helmets fly off.

When I played, I might have seen one helmet come off during a game in my entire career. Now you will see at least one a game if not more.

I know I was hit hard enough to knock my helmet off several times and it always stayed on.

I think its because of all those dred locks .. they push on the helmet.. you get hit hard enough and the helmet squirts off...

you'd probably be scared too if your 1-AA line was trying to block Tyson Jackson and RJF for a whole game

No, he was just on the run all day and did take some good hits. I am suprised knowing what he means to that team in terms of overall success for the season that they left him in the game so long when the outcome was already decided.

Before the game --> Swollen Head

During the game --> Head returned to normal size due to impact, thus the loose fit.
