....LSU for the good time in Baton Rouge/New Orleans. Just got back from Baton Rouge (11 hour drive turned into a 14 hour drive because of evacuation traffic....) and I just wanted to stop by and thank you guys for a great time. Granted we weren't happy we didn't get to really experience gameday at LSU, but we had a great time nonetheless (minus the loss of course). We were treated very well by LSU fans and got some great tips from here and from LSU fans on Bourbon Street Friday.
As for the game, how many dropped passes did we have? I could probably think of 10 off the top of my head. That REALLY hurt us, coupled with the fact that your two DE's had an excellent pass rush which kept Armanti in the pocket, which is NOT what we want. Goes to show us all that if we had an offensive line like you guys do, Armanti would probably be able to do so many more things. I was happy we didn't turn the ball over. I definitely will eat my crow, cause I though the game was gonna be closer. I also imagine a couple of LSU guys I talked to will have their crow after telling us the App players would not be able to withstand the weather or weren't going to have enough conditioning and that'd we be cramping up way before LSU players. Between that and what appears to be no injuries for us, I am very happy with us, that was my goal coming in. An injury for us is really important because of the lack of depth we have.
All in all - great experience and I really hope that you guys will have us back sometime. I know you don't like playing teams from our division, but really love to be able to come see venues like this and enjoy the experience with our team being involved. I'll be back by to check in from time to time. Thanks guys!

Half a series into the game, I thought the sonofabitch was gonna be closer too.
Dropped passes really really hurt y'all. Not sure if they heard footsteps, aren't that great, or were just a little off yesterday.
All in all, props to the Appies. Come back to Louisiana sometime; spend some money.

Absolutely not. I was the guy at Harrah's that turned $15 into $400 playing Roulette.

My honest opinion, I think our receivers were scared of the big hit, especially Coco Hillary (#6). Every time the ball was thrown his direction he was already looking to dodge the hit instead of catching the ball. I guess that I hope that is the case, because in FCS play they won't be as scared of the big hitting safeties, and display more confidence.
I think the other reason could possibly be the amount of sweat on their hands. I realize they were wearing gloves, but you still have a little movement of those gloves after a lot of sweat gets down in em.....

Even if the actual friction of the gloves isn't affected by sweat, if your hands feel any different at all, it could be a little uncomfortable. It isn't uncommon for receivers to have butterfingers in different types of weather.

Hope you guys can get back one of these days and live the real Tiger Experience.
Any chance of App. State moving up to Div 1A?

Nothing formal has been announced, but some indicating factors that appear we are looking to make the move. The Chancellor and AD have both been asked about this, and each time they are asked the continuously dodge the question, but say something to the effect of "Appalachian is in a great growth phase, and we have major plans in the works. Stick around and see what happens." That sorta statements....

How long will it take Appy to win the Sun Belt?
(And bring Georgia Southern and Delaware with you.)

It's also not uncommon that receivers' arms get shorter and their eyes dart around when big hits are applied early in the game. Chris Spiellman(?) sounded very impressed with our physical play.
