This is where I got confused.

Im no bueno at softball rules but from my understanding, the runner would absolutely be out if the ball had not been kicked.

But does the pitcher kicking the ball 6 ft into foul territory, then the collision happening after the kick, change the interference rule?

I think it’s all an umpire judgment call at that point. She’s still going after the ball attempting to field it so I guess you can’t really be upset with the ruling.
