The ONLY difference between now and 30, 40, 50 years ago is that there are more sources to disseminate information than ever before. Stuff like this has been happening for decades...at many schools across the country. Hell, Billy Cannon was CONSTANTLY getting in trouble with the law for drinking, fighting, and all kinds of other shite while he was at LSU. It just got covered up and there were only 2-3 media outlets around to potentially find it.

The reality is college football has nothing to do with college! It's about big money and winning at all costs. At what point do the fans and universities demand major changes be made or do we continue to look the other way while college football gets more and more out of control?

If it offends your sensibilities or moral code then stop supporting it.

It is a multi-million dollar entertainment business masquerading at amateur athletics. One that is beholden to the market factors of supply and demand. The demand for their school to win at a big time level is high while the supply of coaches/players that can make that happen is low. With the enterprise comes big money, notoriety, fame, power, appeal and privilege. Always has, always will. Particularly when the participants are immature 18-21 year old men. Many of whom come from underprivileged backgrounds and/or little to no parental structure whatsoever.

Recruiting violations, football players running wild on campus...shite look at Oklahoma in the 80s, Barry Switzer was a Prison Warden.

You don't get busted because you cheat, you get busted if you don't lock down and the whole University is behind selling its soul. Nobody has ever thought anybody was ever clean...except Penn State and we all saw they were not immune.

Running an industry with individuals that creates massive profit and prestige for enrollment is almost a mafia-like operation that spends 24/hours a day burying all the shady shl!ite behind the scenes.

We have a problem in higher education when Universities are beholden to financial success based on one stupid product that isn't remotely academic for success. See Bama and their Academic rankings, See most of the SEC.

I always said, the higher your Academic ranking as a University, the worse you suck at football.

Where's the tipping point point where you stop being a University and just admit, we're playing minor league football for profit...oh and sometimes we pretend to be a place of higher education.

CFB and ESPN contracts have taken over amature athletics and maybe they never were. Paying players, worshipping at the altar of football, is as old as sin in Universities.

No star athlete goes to College to go to class, no University cares if they bend the rules as long as they win and nobody really cares anymore.

Who has the best semi-pro team, because that's what Bana became. They're not a University anymore and fans don't care because they never went there.

Once CFB became the NFL...long-time ago, and maybe one or two programs would get busted every decade because they sucked at covering shite up people started tuning out.

CFB used to hold a special place but it was always just a lie. Once ESPN bought the SEC and then monopolized CFB it became even a bigger lie. The playing field is stacked. You have a few real schools still trying to be major players and then you have them going up against the AFC West.

Its not just Bama, never in the history of the sport have you had the same fricking teams every year playing for or winning the title for a decade. It's Pro teams going against unpaid or College teams. There's never been an imbalance like this and the ratings have fallen off the map.

Not the right answer. In America we have a weird association with semi-professional sports and universities. It is corrupting of the universities. We should break that association and let universities field sports teams that are more intramural in nature.
