30 caliber carbine stamped with S D PRO and then the numbers 208 6128.

Just want to know a little about it. Approximate value. Was drilled and tapped for scope. Iron sights still usable. Minor cosmetic flaws and PawPaw's initials carved in the stock.

No desire to sell just curious about value so I get a fair insurance valuation for the boat accident I will suffer tomorrow. Imgur not cooperating. Thanks for any help.

Standard Products company, WW2 MFG.

1200-2K but drilling and tapping and initials will hurt it

so I get a fair insurance valuation

Are you scheduling it on the policy or in case you have a claim on your current homeowners policy?

Search Gunbroker for M1 Carbine and you can get an idea of what the current prices are. With the modifications it is no longer a collectable but certainly looks nice. Enjoy shooting it!

I have the same gun. It was my dad's. My first gun was a 38-40 but once my dad saw how much it was worth he gave me his carbine. It was the first rifle (other than a 22) that he ever purchased. Dad passed a few years ago but I left it at my mom's so the nephews can hunt with it when they are visiting. I doubt I will ever see that gun again except when I am visiting. Love shooting that little gun.
