I know the capacity was less than it is now but the Southern Cal game I attended as a student in 1979 was the loudest I've ever been to. The student section was incredible that night.

I have had season tickets since 1982 so I have been to all of the other games that have been mentioned. Those were all loud games too but the Southern Cal game just stands out to me.

The capacity was less but the passion was just different than it is now. I truly believe technology has caused this.

I agree. I was there in 79. Loudest ever!

I'm with you Big Tiger. That was an incredible game and maybe the loudest. The Nebraska 6-6 tie was almost as loud. But my loudest was Florida 2007. My ears felt it like never before or since. It was amazing!!

SC ‘79 game. Second year in school & the student section stood & yelled nearly the entire game.

Go read some of the SC player quotes after the game & you get a feel for how deafening the noise was.

Been going to games since 68 and the loudest moment was the end of the Ole Miss game in 72. USC 79 and UF when they were no 1 were probably the loudest games.

Was about to say the same. That game was loud and the most physical game I've witnessed at either the pro or college level. To this day, Charles White says it was the toughest game he ever played.
