He did say that LSU told the Thomas family that he wouldn’t get much playing time as a freshman,

Yeah, this is where whomever said this went off the rails and proved that he was full of shite. Any program worth its weight doesn’t tell any recruit that. Even if it’s a punter.

If this is true, his dad will get his son screwed over, I can see it already, because you know damn well he's managing that bidding war, damn shame that he cant let his son make his own decisions

Just saw on 247 that he is not signing tomorrow.

Bama is trying to get him in this class. They signed 25 and have Wheaton committed but I’m sure Nicky can make it happen if he wants in

But Jimbo's offense put's a lot of responsibility on WR's. From what I've heard, you pretty much need to know what every position is doing on every play.

What Jimbo’s offense is is stuck in the past. Take that from some former experts in dinosaur pro-style offenses that misuse athletic QBs.

The only reason he has fewer red flags than Evans last year is because he’s lower key. But this whole situation is dirty as frick. LSU needs to just move on and let his dad get his bag somewhere else.

Does the NCAA not care that families are selling their kids to the highest bidder or just too under funded to do anything about it?

You have no fricking basis to say this except a young man making the biggest decision of his young life isn't making it soon enough to suit your breathless recruiting agenda. Its people like you who discourage kids from signing with LSU. if they believe you represent the fan base.

Telling BTJ that he won't receive playing time as a true freshman is a terrible way to recruit. Just like you said, it doesn't seem likely.

What more than likely did happen is that the Thomas family was told that the majority of the WR room came back and we signed 3 other freshman WRs so the competition for playing time will be fierce. Which is true.

What the Thomas family probably heard is that BTj won’t play much as a Freshman. Which is also probably true.

Reminds me of the story Saban tells about Jimbo's use of Skylar Green. He kept asking Jimbo why Skyler Green was not playing and Jimbo replied that he only knew one play. So Saban says "Put him in and run that f*&$%@g play." Jimbo put him in and ran the WR tunnel screen that went for a touchdown. Saban said alright, next week teach him another play and run them both.

That’s funny cuz that’s the same story that is on the Saturdays down south documentary on ESPN except that it’s not about Saban, it’s about Spurrier.

Both stories are probably bullshite btw.

This has Zack Evans written all over it, this is weird for sure
except for that whole part where Brian has never said he was going to commit and he never fake signed with someone

If this is true it just shows most recruits are emotional and not very smart so the staff should lie their arse off. Does he believe the other schools saying he’ll start day 1...just like Ish did?

A&M’s 5-star freshman WR never touched the field last season. LSU always plays it’s freshman early.

FYI, he didn’t play his senior season in HS. There is a reason he had little PT in 2020.

Are you attempting to say that LSU is squeaky clean when it comes to football recruiting? Don’t be naive. College football is dirty across the board, especially in the SEC.

You can come on down off that high horse and kiss my arse. If I believed for one nanosecond that any of the bullshite you are saying was true, then I wouldn’t think anything of this kid waiting. However, his father looking for a big-time handout is the worst kept secret in 2021 recruiting. He’s holding off to shop for a better offer and we have enough problems with the NCAA. It’s time to move on and let his Daddy get his payday from Saban or Jimbo.

There’s a few bucks under the table and looking the other way when boosters get some money to a kid’s family or lining up no-show jobs and 0% interest car loans, and then there’s a dad going around openly asking for mid six figures for his son to sign. Those are not the same thing.

Don't know Thomas' family, but I am inclined to cut them some slack. Every athlete and family hears fantastic stories of huge sums of money (to them) changing hands when a HS star signs. There are no written rules for how these things happen, and few families are prepared to handle it. Sometimes the families get left out and money goes to handlers, coaches, churches.
So, if "everybody is dirty" and this happens all the time, you cannot blame a father or mother who wants to get their share, whatever that means.
I am sure there are families who are also unreasonable, predatory and aggressively dishonest. But for the most part, the families have the most to lose or gain and the least information about how the game is played.

No, I am not saying LSU is squeaky clean.

I am wondering why the NCAA does not do more to police these types of activities. Is it lack of resources? Lack of desire? Lack of credible information?

Keon Coleman signed with Michigan State University. He is a good two-sport athlete in football and basketball.
