Honestly this is the reason I don't believe the rumors. He actually has more to gain than lose by coming out. It's not like the guy gives a shite what people think either.

He cried in the locker room when Favre pulled a prank on him as a rookie. He's estranged himself from his devoutly religious family. After today's loss, he excused not tucking-and-running at the end of the game by claiming he thought they'd "maybe" go for it on 4th down.
I think he very much gives a shite about what people think. Otherwise he wouldn't deflect and act like a brat.
