I have read that they have hotel rooms for their 12 hours off...the basement parking garage was for breaks during their 12 hr shifts----still sucks and is disrespectful (1 bathroom for all of them) but hopefully they have a warm bed to sleep in at night (or day if they're on night watch)

I think the trial will happen. Not saying it should happen or that it will result in a conviction, but the trial will take place.

And I didn’t mean the riots themselves will happen underground, but the planning/organization of them can.

While I don’t think he has definitively said he will not preside, it’s unclear whether he has to or not. The constitution says he would preside over the trial of the president. Since trump isn’t in office anymore, some say he wouldn’t be the correct presiding officer anyway. In such a case, Harris or Pro Tempore Leahy would preside.

Article I, Section 3, Clause 6:

The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.


It doesn't say a damn thing about a "trial of the President." It says impeachment. And it says the Chief Justice SHALL preside. It says exactly frick all about anyone else presiding. And don't think your little word play isn't noted. "Trial of the president." GTFO with that shite. You did that deliberately because you also know that they cannot impeach someone who isn't a public official.

What you're talking about isn't an impeachment. What you're talking about is a sham. And you damn well know it.

Ed, that’s how a legal analysis of a law works. You break down the exact wording of the law. It’s not word play. The law says when the president is tried...well he’s not the president anymore. I’m simply saying it’s not clear because it’s never happened before. Constitutional scholars agree that it’s not clear.

It’s actually quite unconstitutional to try a former President for impeachment. He is no longer President, he cannot be impeached. There is absolutely no Constitutional basis for what The Party is doing.

This is shite we would have gone to war over, 100 years ago.
