I have it. I’m in remission with it at the moment (getting pregnant did it). I took a few biologics, and methotrexate for years. Didn’t really hurt me bad. Every now and then I had a flair up. Got blood taken every 6 months to make sure my liver was ok.

Not sure about the p arthritis, but psoriasis is a bitch to deal with and will kill your dating life dead if you are a young person with a severe case of it. The treatments are costly, ineffective, and often make the disease worse in the long run. If I wanted to ruin someone’s life without actually killing them, I’d give them guttate psoriasis on 70-80% of their body.

. That’s what I had and methotrexate knocked it out. I just had a few spots left after about 5 weeks of being on it.

I’ve got a relative that has it. It’s rough on her sometimes. She hurts a lot when the weather changes. She tried a couple of different biologics for a while anthey did some good. However, she started having a reaction to them, so she quit taking them.

Is this what morning stiffness is? I'm confused for real.

I had mild psoriasis on my scalp and a few other places. Also was apparently causing some joint pain in my knuckles.

Got put on once a month biological injections ($25/dose) about 2 years ago and it knocked everything out 100%. I forget I even have it

That is some nasty stuff that will destroy your liver. I’ve never had the stones to go that route or try the biologics. I just use steroid cream on visible areas of my scalp and cover the rest of my body. Not much else to be done. I’ve considered suicide many times.

Why not try the biologics? They’ve been pretty life changing for me and haven’t had any side effects.

I have a mild case of psoriasis and minor psoriatic arthritis. My psoriasis is limited to the scalp and to my legs. The arthritis is primarily in my right hand and knee. I actually showed signs of the arthritis before the skin rash became a thing. I've been told it could get worse or it could stay the same. If it gets worse, then I'll explore pharmaceutical options to keep joint damage from progressing, but until then I'll keep going without anything. I feel for the people who have it bad. That doesn't look like fun. 36 yo male, for reference.

Some of those steroid creams can cause skin thinning if used too long. I’d say about 80% of my body was covered in guttate/plaque psoriasis. The biologics (Humira) changed my life. You really should reconsider that option. I’m even a little bitch when it comes to needles, but you can’t even see the needle with the pen injector.

Some of the injections like Taltz can knock it out in a few months, costs about $25 dollars a month or so.

I got put on the heavy biologicals about ten years ago. I forget the name, but some golfer advertised for them - Enbrel maybe. Anyway, the shite was $4,200 per month and I was on it over a year - thank god I had health insurance at the time. Injections twice a week.

The shite worked. No psoriasis since then and a only a once in a blue moon pain in my wrists hands, but that’s it.
