I am happy for kids having that options.
Keep in mind at some schools, your scholarship is renewed annually - Former Coach Saban has been known to introduce that policy in the Big 10 and SEC. Many coaches across use that undocumented policy to gain a competitive advantage.
Years ago, when a coach accepted a new job, he just goes without any consequences aside from a buyout.
Prime example, take the kid from Warren Easton who played RB that signed with Colorado last year. He signed with them to play for their former Coach Mel Tucker who accepted the same job at Michigan State University for more money. That happened after the last signing date in February. At one time, Colorado refused his release ... is that right?
If the coaches can leave, so can the kids.
That is part of the Free Enterprise system and it is not changing. Either you adapt to win and remain relevant or lose.
