yardage expected on the driving range

Probably only about 20-30 yards longer. Hopefully enough to keep balls on the range and not on the 8th fairway.

Nick said the Nets were going to be higher as well as I have gotten in trouble for that before. Is that correct?

That's from a tee that I suspect will be used seldomly

Perks of not playing a muni, not getting stuck behind a 25 handicap playing from the tips.

8th? Better step your slice game up, I put one on the 1st fairway

He also suggests from the Raynor Tees that 9 and 18 be played as par 4s for a par 70.

HELL YES that needs to happen

Moving back in July.

I started playing a lot out there from 2003-2009, right after the first renovation. They made some mistakes, obvious because they're tearing it up. The greens were too elevated, with soft surrounds. Old guys couldn't run it up, and the short game options were limited to basically flops from off the green or a deep bunker shot. Only real short grass around greens were right of 10, and then on some approaches. And they went with Tifdwarf on the greens instead of Tifeagle, could never really get them smooth.

I'm really hoping they get this right, seems like they have more knowledgeable people involved this time. Can't wait to play it after completion.

Marchand posted a drone shot of the 3rd hole Biarritz green shaping yesterday. It’s gonna be incredible. Green will be 65 yards long with a big swale from left to right across the middle. Imagine a playing a runner in there from the tee and watching the ball roll up the front, disappear into the swale and then roll up to a pin on the back plateau!

3rd hole Biarritz green

Yep, looks awesome. Hole 7, par 3, will be a true redan, raised bank on the right funneling balls to the left. Hopefully weather cooperates, they get a good grow-in, and we see a reno'ed MCC highlighting all of the cool Raynor shite.

Reviewed the plans and received the check

I kid, I’m sure it’ll be awesome, but I’m always skeptical about those lists and potential kick backs

Golf magazine ranked MCC #2 this year before the renovation even started. LINK

Curious, who gave you this info?
