Why is it stupid? Seems a pretty level-headed approach to incentivizing minority growth in upper level team management.
No one made the Falcons hire him, but they determined him to be the best candidate for their position. And because the Saints developed him to that level, they are compensated. It’s a pretty intelligent, grass-roots approach to promoting an under represented talent base.
