No personal stands/areas. If you want to hang a stand, fine, but it has to be on the board. Also, don’t do something dumb like hang it 200 yards down the road from camp stands... If you’re not an arse about where you want to hang a stand, good members will kind of back off, or ask if you mind them hunting that stand after you’ve had a few sits on it yourself.

It’s all about give and take. People naturally find places that they prefer and it usually works fairly harmoniously with the exception of opening weekend and around the holidays, but most of the time it won’t be too crowded. And you kind of know ahead of time when the busy weekends are going to be. With all that said, you’ve still gotta have a good group of people that aren’t going to get pissy when someone is hunting where they wanted to hunt.

Also, something that I’ve run into before is people will put their name on the board the night before the morning hunt, or at lunch before the afternoon hunt. You shouldn’t be allowed to do that. When you sign in, you should be heading to the stand when you walk out of the camp house.

Our stands are first come, first serve with sign in time starting at 430 am and noon. Stands are marked by the wind direction and must be hunted accordingly. We sit until 10 in the morning at a minimum. You can’t sign for a stand in the morning that you want to hunt in the afternoon. Personal stands are open to all members and must be cleared with club president before putting up.
No real issues with people getting the stands they want. There’s enough out there where you can always find a good spot depending on wind direction.
