It was a brilliant move that propelled them into the winning season they had the rest of the way

We might agree to disagree here, but just b/c it is brilliant doesn't mean it is classless. Brilliant would have been a florida player starting a fight so by SEC rules the officials would have had no choice but to eject anybody who left the bench. Classless, yet brilliant.

If you think he didn't "realize" that, you're dumb. If you think he was just doing it to placate the fan base and the boosters, because he knew he had to and if he didnt' do it, they would say he didn't support his team, you're smart.

That is irrelevant, he has to support his team, Miles would do the same thing ("we didn't lose in regulation").

the difference here is that he continued to harp this point AFTER the selection was done. It was over and decided, and he continued to press the issue. If you think Miles would have done the same, why did we not hear it in '06? That year most of the country agreed that LSU was scary, and nobody really wanted to face them. They finished 3rd in country w/o making the SECC, very similair to UGA, yet no national whine sessions took place.

How was LSU in '06 the same as Georgia in '07?

LSU finished with two regular season losses in '06 while the teams that were ahead of them playing for the national title finished undefeated (Ohio State) and with only one regular season loss (Florida).

In '07, Georgia finished the regular season with the exact same number of losses as LSU.

About the only similarities I see between LSU '06 and Georgia '07 was the fact that neither team played in the SECCG. LSU had no room to argue in '06 because they had lost more games than both Florida and Ohio State. At least Georgia had the same record as LSU when the regular season was over and done with last year.

Anyway...just wanted to point that out. Carry on.
