In today's day and age I don't know why you'd send your kid to a boarding school? If they are already smart then they will likely graduate at the very top of their class with a high SAT/ ACT score and whatever else colleges ask for. That will get them almost anything they need.
Not seeing your kid and not seeing your parents for weeks at at time is not worth it imo.
I went to Del Rio HS in Del Rio Tx for a year, completely shite school. I was friends with a girl that was incredibly smart and her bro was a couple years ahead of us and went to Harvard. No idea where she went but probably Ivy league. Sure its anecdotal but you don't need a great HS to learn enough to go to a great college.
