At least part of it tends to be companies being overly ambitious in what they want to offer and either they can’t pull it off or they pull it off and they end up immolating in the process’s
LA Noire comes to mind, where Team Bondi spent several years working on new tech and made a great game but everything came crashing down on them due to how they treated developers during the push to get to market.

Nah, Rockstar basically created this genre, they're the OG.
I can't wait until they port GTAV to the PS5.
The graphics are gonna be LIT.

Essentially the first RPG game I played was Skyrim. And that was a couple years after it’s release. It is one of my favorite games now, but I still struggle playing RPGs.
I was told Witcher was the bee’s knees. I picked it up after completing Horizon and found it virtually unplayable. Waited a year or two and tried it again and enjoyed it but still found myself wishing I was playing Skyrim a lot of the time.
I don’t see any possible way I enjoy this game unless I wait a year or more for them to fix it, despite the fact it looks/sounds very cool.

I love how MSGM reviewers will list like a dozen basic fundamental things wrong with a game that show a lack of effort on the part of a developer but will still excuse it saying they’ll fix those problems 6 months to a year later and give it a 9.5 out of 10 because “the staff worked so hard for so long”.
frick that, if you worked for 7 years on something the very least you can do is make sure the basic Tetris level shite in your game functions as intended.

This has been my point from the beginning.
The really bad cop AI is an inexcusable basic game feature that's completely missing from the game. How can you develop a game coming up to a decade and not have something so basic?
And then people excuse them because it'll get fixed in a year.

It all comes down to are you having fun.
I'm 120 hours in and not even remotely close to finishing the game. I'm having fun. The game was overly ambitious and they fricked people with consoles.
I'll easily sink 200 hours in the game and be thoroughly happy with the experience.
I don't care about the cop AI because it is actually pretty easy to do everything you need to do without ever pissing the cops off. Heck, now that I know how to play, the only times I piss the cops off are when I am driving too fast and smash into a pedestrian.
I love the game. Will it be in my top 10 ever games? Nope. It is nothing more than a GTA clone with much better graphics and atmosphere but at the end of the day it isn't genre bending or game changing. It is a fun graphical glitched game.
The scope was simply too big. The city is insanely large and I don't notice any loading screens or zoning in and out while driving which means it absolutely devours resources that don't exist in last gen consoles.
The publishers were absolute thieves pushing the game out to consoles and BLOCKING any footage of consoles being released before the game release date. They knew the consoles were shite, they hid it and I have no problem with them being eviscerated for their deception.
In summary, they bit off more than they could chew and covered it up. I'm hoping for an Engoodening of No Man's Sky scenario but I don't need it . I'll finish having enjoyed the game. I just hope down the line when I want to play again in a year, they will have actually fine tuned the AI and fixed the bugs. Only time will tell if they are willing to keep working or if they take the money and run.

I wish I could forget Skyrim and get another first time playthrough. I still play about 5 hours to 10 hours a month or so on my newest file, and it was just such a damn joy.

CDPR's response to this - stop playing side stories
So just playing a bunch of side stories will also cause the save file glitch? Im not really into a lot of collecting and crafting but I would like explore and to enjoy the side mission stories.

No it's not.
Games that are released in alpha testing mode like Cyberpunk deserve harsh criticism. If the end users don't complain, then these companies are not held accountable for shitty products being dumped onto the market.
This game has been one of the most glitchy games to date and think about the company it sits with like Skyrim.

You're trying to excuse one of the most basic game mechanics for a game like this.

And again, if we as consumers of this product don't hold them accountable, they will just do it again.

I have the One X and just started playing. Im still in the prologue period so this is possible to change but so far it looks really good. I've definitely seen bugs, like my car floating randomly and then when I am hauling arse through the city in my car i can see my xbox is about to set ablaze and crash as the screen slows down but usually fixes itself pretty quick.
The game started slow but I am still enjoying it but I am also not a big gamer.
