I think the majority of America still does not realize this. It in no way will prevent your infection. It has a 90-95% chance of reducing your symptoms. This works just like the flu vaccine.

Vaccines for COVID-19 won't prevent the SARS-CoV-2 virus from entering your body, but it will prevent you from developing COVID-19 in most cases because your body will fight off the virus before it has an opportunity to cause the disease. Whether or not that also prevents people from spreading the virus to others remains to be seen.
