The pearl clutchers are waiting.

All it takes is a cold and a false positive, and the whole house of cards comes tumbling down.

Will probably happen. But the sky will not fall as long as it is clear that the overall numbers are coming down.

Dr Faucci will be ready to serve one up next week

Its only 90-95% effective. So at least 1 in 20 will still get it.

How long will it take for Trump to admit he is a loser?

About as long as it takes for Biden to give back the millions he and Hunter received when selling the US down the drain.

I’d guess not long as the vaccine doesn’t prohibit someone from still getting Covid.

I can’t wait for the dumbass thread here - “I went 35 years without catching Covid-19, but the one year I took the vaccine was the year I got it. Never again”

I mean I literally came down with a positive flu test the only 2 years I took the flu vaccine. The other years my employer didn’t offer it I didn’t take it and I never got the flu. It’s not that effective in my case.

I think the majority of America still does not realize this. It in no way will prevent your infection. It has a 90-95% chance of reducing your symptoms. This works just like the flu vaccine.

Vaccines for COVID-19 won't prevent the SARS-CoV-2 virus from entering your body, but it will prevent you from developing COVID-19 in most cases because your body will fight off the virus before it has an opportunity to cause the disease. Whether or not that also prevents people from spreading the virus to others remains to be seen.

The Flu shot is less than 40% effective and you think this vaccine is 90-95% effective. Can you sell me what ever you are smoking. The virus is mutating....

Of course it's mutating. All viruses are always mutating, even Varicella. But the mutation rate of corona viruses is lower than the mutation rate of influenza viruses. I'm skeptical of the 90-95% effectiveness figure, but that doesn't mean I'm going to jump to the complete opposite conclusion and take the position that the COVID vaccines will be worthless. That's as stupid as believing they're going to be perfect.

Do you realize the person you are responding to is a doctor?
Meta-analysis of influenza vaccine studies show a higher effective rate than you ascribe to the vaccines:
The Lancet
Seasonal flu vaccines depend on the educated guess of the vaccine makers as to which strains will be prevalent in a particular year.
Coronaviruses have relatively slow rates of mutation.
Are the COVID vaccines a panacea, no. They will however likely be a major brick in the wall.
