According to all the SEC Head Coaches. No.

I think they are all pretty equal, esp first teamers. I think LSU and UGA are deeper than UF on the lines, esp D lines.

I don't think there's much of a difference between LSU, Georgia and Florida when it comes to the amount of talent. As a matter of fact, I'd actually say that LSU probably has a little more talent than Georgia or Florida. Not by much, but just a little.

Talent alone, however, doesn't win ball games. Yes, I know it's cliche, but I went with it anyway.

We know talent isnt the only thing that wins NCs...but a GREAT runningback doesnt either(see Darren McFadden)

You're right. I agree 100%. It also helps to have a proven, talented QB to go along with that RB.

True...we have 4 great ones...and it probably helps to have the best o line in the nation blocking for those running backs and some great recievers for a so-so qb to throw to. And the best D-lines along with one of the best defensive backfields in the country putting pressure on pretty good QBs and Good RBs.

You have 4 great QBs?

I'm of the opinion that success in the SEC starts with the QB. If you're not strong and experienced at that position, then you can have a good year, but not a great one.

LSU has as much or more total team talent and more depth IMO

as for FL, they have a core of high-profile kids, but they also have scrubs in several areas where LSU dwarfs them in talent and depth

I was refering to running backs. So youre saying that QBs that are so-so with great athletes around them can't win NCs(See Flynn and Mauck) and QBs who are supremely taleted(See Russel, Ange, Tebow...etc) are the only ones who can?

Let's put it this way, the three teams are so comparable in terms on talent that victory or defeat will be dictated by execution and coaching.

None of the three has a dispositive talent edge.

"So-so" QB's can lead teams to championships. David Greene, the QB with the most wins in the history of college football, led the Dawgs to a 13-1 record in 2002. Same record as the LSU Tigers in 2003. David Greene was hardly the most talented QB in the world...but what he had (and what Flynn and Mauck had) was some experience and an outstanding leadership quality. Flynn was a senior in 2007 with a lot of experience under his belt. Mauck was a junior with some experience coming in his sophomore year.

Flynn had a little bit...not alot. Remember he was behind the #1 draft pick. Mauck also had a bit. Both had good performances late in the season(Mauck v Tenn, Flynn V Miami). We have plenty of little games before UGA so QB inexperience wont be an issue by that time. Also you negated your own argument about how success in the SEC starts win a good QB.

That's true and a good point. You'll have him broken in good with games against Florida, Auburn and South Carolina...but surviving those games will be the key.

I didn't say the success in the SEC starts with a good QB. I said success in the SEC starts with a "proven, talented QB." It's important that the guy calling the shots knows what he's doing.

Well even prior to those games we have appy state, troy and N texas. Auburn wont be much. 4 games is plenty to take care of any experience problems...and you said "strong and experienced". Talented and strong to me =good. Just me?
