I hope the Miss St game doesn't end up at 11:30. I think it might. Hopefully State will will a couple early games and we can end up on ESPN again.
It sucks that we may end up with no home conference games at night and our two hardest road games at night.

you would have more viewers at nite. it's all about the money anyways.....

Miss St. game has a 50/50 shot at an ESPN2 night game or JP. I've posted for the last few weeks that the UGA game, SC game and Bama game will be CBS and NOT night games, I was right. Although the Bama game could be a 4:00 start time like CBS experimented with last year.
You people all act SHOCKED that these games are CBS day games. All you had to do was look at the SEC schedule each week and it was obvious that these games were going to get picked by CBS first.

What's the probability that ESPN fights CBS for the Georgia game if we both have 1 loss?

quote:apparently you know nothing about how the tv schedule works. The LSU/UGA game is on CBS. PERIOD. ESPN can't "fight" for the right to that game no matter how appealing it is.

I have to agree with jlsutiger on this. It is amazing how many thousands of times the SEC tv contract has been detailed on this site. It is the same contract that has been in place for years now. Except for two preselected games, CBS always has first pick before ESPN. Rantards can't ever seem to figure this out.

I'm not saying hes wrong, hes just way too proud of himself.

Get over yourself.

Day games are weak as water.... there really is no upside. The amount of booing BAMA and Saban would have recieved at night this year.....priceless....
I'll be ready to bring it anyway!

did you notice that there are 5 games during the middle of the season that have been selected by cbs? that is not how it normaly is. they usually only select 2 or 3 before the season then chose 2 weeks before.

First off, i rarely post on the rant because douche bags like you believe you are all high and mighty calling other people rantards.
Second, please find a post where i stated that i assumed all LSU home games would be at night this year. PLEASE DO THIS!!!!

Anyone with a brain, including you, could see that after 2003, LSU would become as attractive to CBS as any SEC team. Last year only proved the point. You're the only one commenting about people assuming all LSU home games would be at night. That hasn't happened for several years now, and barring a complete program collapse of the type the Bammers fantsize over, won't happen again.

Unless you are a CBS or ESPN executive, which I doubt you are, NO ONE, including you, could have stated exactly what the CBS schedule was before it was announced.

Actually, here is a post by me from 2 days ago re: CBS schedule. I was dead on. BOOM. LINK

So potential of Georia and Bama being 4:30 too........that blows!
Blows indeed! Everytime I pick a game to come down for, TV moves it to a freakin' day game.
Bama @ LSU or Georgia @ KY!!! No contest here, CBS will be in Baton Rouge screwing up my one trip of the year!
When I see Vern Lundquist, I'm kicking him square in the nuts for this one!
Thanks alot CBS

You're right, the distribution of games was fairly predictable.
However, the fact that it was predictable doesn't necessarily make it any less unpleasant.
It's predictable that I will grow old and I die. I'm not looking forward to it, though. LOL.
Between the caliber of the opponents and the time of the games, this may be the worst LSU home schedule since I've been a fan:
Appalachian State - Day game against a cupcake to open the season. Ugh.
Troy - Not a marquee OOC opponent, but at least a night game.
North Texas - Not a marquee OOC opponent, but at least a night game.
MSU - Lower tier SEC opponent. Probable 11:30 AM start, though perhaps we will be rescued by ESPN or ESPN2.
UGA - Marquee game, but during the day.
Tulane - Sigh.
Alabama - Marquee game, but during the day.
Ole Miss - Lower echelon SEC team (although perhaps Nutt will surprise). Probable CBS day game if, in fact, Ole Miss is any good.
There are no marquee night home games.

You're right. A sight and sound on this level belongs in prime time.
If I were a CBS exec., I'd be thinking, "set it at 8:00pm and let the LSU fans get good and ready for Saban!"
