When we take our athletes from their families at age three and have them train for 8 hours a day 5 days a week for one purpose and we have the threat of sending their families to labor camps if they don't perform then it will be an even playing field

Plus track hasn't even started.

yea, it speaks volumes that we have as many good athletes as we do from a smaller pool of people...and our athletes train under their own free will

there is something called olympic training centers which if our government ever paid for and not have the athletes rely on sponsors we'd win a lot more medals than now.

this is the answer. and they still aren't very athletic. they tend to dominate in the skill events like shooting, ping pong, badminton, etc.
