Think of it as a matter of perspective. Try not to be a fan for just a second

If you think I am evaluating this as a fan then you don't understand what I'm saying, so let me clear this up:

Contacting recruits via any medium regarding where they attend school is stupid unless that person is your personal friend or family member, or unless you are a college coach.

If you contact a kid through his facebook or myspace page you are a freak who needs to be dragged into the street and whipped.

If I had a kid who was being recruited, I would want him left alone by everyone except those just listed.

My point is that trying to regulate such stupid activity is a pointless exercise that the unscrupulous among us can use to hurt our hated rivals. To say that you will attempt to regulate or affect anonymous internet postings demonstrates a fundamental misunderstanding of how modern society communicates.

I will guarantee you that whoever drafted this rule is a guy who has his assistant print out his e-mails and read them to him. He then hand-writes responses that his assistant sends out as e-mails.

I see your point but all I see is reporters calling and doing all the bugging. The fans all through up hookem horns (put any team saying here) or point to the shirt they are wearing with college logo. It's like how many fans stalk movie stars? All I ever hear is about the reporters always bugging them. As I have said in the past it's ok to be a pest if you make money off of them but don't to talk to them if you are not greedy enough to make money off of a high school kid. You see it's the money makers who make the rules so don't mess with their cash cow you peion (hope I spelled it correct) fans.
