What if I rotate a bottle of water for every highball? I think that’s I’m gonna do. Eagle Rare on the rocks with a twist of lemon and honey. 3-4 of those and 3 bottles of water. Wish me luck

Sounds like a good excuse to drink straight moonshine. You're welcome.

Sounds great. It would even be better if you could sit outside on a patio in a dog friendly restaurant.

You should have already been drinking heavily as a preventative measure

I don’t know any hardcore alcoholics who have gotten the WuFlu

Absolutely not. Covid dehydrate you. Alcohol would only further dehydrate you. Best to stay away from the drink until the Covid has fully run it's course. Plus, alcohol impairs judgement, which might cause you to make decisions that are not favorable towards keeping Covid at bay.

Get out of here with reasoning and shite. Man is dying, let him enjoy it!! Cheers!!!

yup...you just can't enjoy it. For the longest after I lost my smell/taste due to vid, every pour I drank tasted like liquid sanitizer that comes from distilleries smells. Nothing but ethanol and a sickening sweetness...fricking sucked

So I’ve apparently got the Covid. Felt like shite yesterday driving to the camp. . Ran fever @ about 100.5 last night. Felt like poo all day. Mainly just tired, no taste or smell and burning/dripping sinuses. I’m pretty much in isolation and can call off any would be visitors so I intend to ride it out here. Question for the OT doctors: can I drink whiskey? Tia

Do what you want.

But it's a pretty bad idea if your main goal is to feel better soon.

Alcohol is not good for you. Any benefit that might be gained from a single drink of alcohol can be gained from other foods.

Legend has it if you mix COVID and whiskey that COVID is more potent after 11:00 PM

I find it funny when people like to make a joke about how "COVID must only come out at night" as a way of making fun of certain rules and restrictions when science hasn't ruled out that UV light can help deter the spread of COVID.

I was at the our ranch in South Texas when I came down with it. Drank an 18 pack with my little brother Last Monday and he called me yesterday saying he tested positive.

I don’t know doc. I’ve never had a banana make me feel as good as a bunch of bourbon whiskey, at least in real time. Repercussions aside

The repercussions aside part is where you should be focusing your attention.

I find Booker's @ 126 proof comes close to killing anything....and if you can get it, Kelt Cognac. Covid cannot withstand longterm exposure to either....

Covid or any other virus isn't going to dehydrate you unless you're sweating from fever, throwing up, or have the shites.

Keep some Pedialyte / bottled water on hand and drink all you want... unless you plan on waking up and going to do some hardcore manual labor with a sweat suit on.

If you can’t taste anything what’s the point of drinking alcohol?
